  • Hello! I’m currently in the military and might have an amazing opportunity to attend a university while being paid. Are there any reasonably priced 1-2 year full hookups near Seattle, San Francisco or San Diego that you know of? By living in one of these cities I will be able to maximize my pay while in attendance. Thank you for your time.

    • Nick,

Thats sounds like a wonderful opportunity. I wish I could help you out, but my definition of near to those type of cities would be 2-3 hours away. Plus San Francisco is going through a major housing crisis right now so your not the only one thinking of living out of a camper lessen the cost of living. Which is causing quite the uproar. I could do some searching for your, but I wouldn’t be optimistic. I did that for a lady a few months ago and the cheapest even I could find within striking range of her requirements (within the city) was $500/month and it was literally a tar parking lot behind some guys business. It could definitely be down. Its called urban boondocking, and its what I did this last winter in Minnesota. Follow this link to read more about that. You just move from place to place each day. I stayed at a lot of church parking lots, movie theaters, walmarts, home depots, 24 hour gyms and even hotel parking lots. Here’s some more reading material on how to make urban boondocking work for you. You can also check out these two links on how to find cheap RV Hookups or Resources for cheap RV hookups. It also never hurts. Just call the RV parks in the area or visit their website and look up what their monthly rates. Sometimes you’d be surprised how cheap they are. I actually just found one I’m going to stay at for the winter here in Colorado for only $265 a month with full rv hookups.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Regards,

      Adam

  • I have been searching all over the internet for RV lots for rent & private rv lots for rent near me here in Alabama. Do you know of any rv lots for rent by owner near me, or an RV space for rent? I am currently renting in a longterm rv park, but they are closing down for the season and I need a space to live in my rv full time near here. Thanks for your help.

    • Jennifer,

Thanks for visiting my RV travel blog. I would love to help you Jennifer, but that is a paid service offer because it takes a couple hours just to track down on the possible leads for both public and private rv lots for rent in an area. And after finding them it could take a day or even up to a month to correspond with all of the private RV lots for rent along with all the public campgrounds, mobile homes and RV resorts in the area. Have you read my reply comment to Ben? Its the last comment posted before this one. In that reply comment I give step by step instructions on how I would go about finding an RV space for rent in San Francisco, but you can use those same steps yourself to find RV lots for rent by owner near you, long term RV parks to live in your RV full time, or any RV space for rent. You just have to put in the time and start making phone calls or sending out emails.

I have been enjoying RV life since 1998, and I have never found a list anywhere on the internet that displays every campground, RV resort, Private RV hookups and every RV space in the country. Google doesn’t know. Wikipedia doesn’t know, and there is no campground membership network that tries to coral all the existing campgrounds out there. Mainly because most campground owners have ZERO interest in the internet. Because they established themselves before the internet was even a thing, and because most campgrounds are near a high volume tourist destination that books every available RV space for rent from default traffic passing by.

I would be more than happy to create a list for all of you guys with contact information, prices and availability of every RV space for rent in your area. But that will have to be a group effort. If you all start sending me the info you know or find on campgrounds or rv spaces in your area to my email [email protected] I will start a list, and put it in my header 6 pack so its visible on every page of this website.

Sorry Jennifer I couldn’t be more specific, but I would have to google where Woodstock AL is because I’ve never been there let alone researched RV spaces for rent in that area.

      Happy Hunting,
      Adam

  • I’m in Missouri and I’m looking for a semi permanent rental space to place my bus renovation project. Has to have power but water is optional. Any ideas where I should begin my search. Nice app btw. Good content and well placed, I think.

    • Hey Katy,

I would refer to Facebook here, and just make a post in a local FB garage sale group offering to rent a garage, shed, pole barn or vacant land for your bus reno project. I know you said power is a must, but a generator on vacant land will accomplish the same. To find a place to build out your camper bus I would rely heavily on the power of Facebook. You might try other sites like expeditionportal or overland builds, but FB garage sale market place has a farther reach.

      Best of luck,
      Adam
